2005 Out Through the In Door : Favorite albums

My 10 most-favorite albums of 2005 :
this is not a countdown !
Yes, I liked them all (plus a bunch more...)

Fiona Apple - extraordinary Machine
Apple's most accessible and mellowed work

Earth - Hex: or Printing in the Infernal Method
Dylan Carlson's ambient vision comes to life once more

Liz Janes & Create!
Beautiful bluesy re-makes of six American public domain songs

Clutch - Robot Hive/Exodus
Another attack from one of the most original American rock bands active today. Blues rock, funk and hard rock are all well served in one terrific album

Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley - Welcome to Jamrock
The new Reggae gospel of the young Marley is here to stay

The Chicharones - When Pigs Fly
Forget about the Gorillaz - this is the best animated hip-hop act, with lots of humor & cheeky imagination

Kate Bush - Aerial
A glorious comeback with a double album. Nothing has really changed, what makes it so great

Acid King - III
Queen Lori is back with her blast of in-your-face monster riffs and killer attitude

High On Fire - Blessed Black Wings
Yet another Hardcore/Doom album from this majestic band. Much more powerful and furious than their last efforts

Geoff Berner - Whiskey Rabbi
Amazing Jewish folk, drunk imaginary and, well - an accordion. Very unique, funny and inimitable

10 + 1 video = ...

Favorite music video 0f 2005 : THE CHEMICAL BROTHERS - GALVANAIZE feat. Q Tip (From Push the Button - another superb big-beat chemical release!)
